SUNYCAP Leadership Institute


Today's competitive higher education environment demands skilled enrollment management professionals. SUNYCAP has developed a comprehensive set of workshops that will assist the mid-level admissions professional to develop the necessary skills to succeed in the enrollment management profession.


The SLI program is taught by experienced enrollment and admissions professionals, from within and outside the SUNY System, and covers a wide range of topics including student recruitment, financial aid and strategic enrollment planning and retention.

Certificate in Enrollment Management

The SUNYCAP Leadership Institute is committed to the professional growth and development of its seasoned admissions professionals who have been identified or expressed aspirations to serve as future leaders in our profession.


Through Leadership Institute, we will create an atmosphere and environment of continued professional development as well as identify, promote and build future admissions and enrollment leaders.


The overall goal is to blend and manage initiatives that will assist in the development of future leaders who in return will be retained, challenged and enriched through professional opportunities.


SUNY admissions professionals who participate in this unique program will develop the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively develop and support a college and enrollment management program at their institution.

Program Requirements

Workshops will be offered at the annual SUNYCAP Conference and at drive-in programs. A total of seven workshops or 28 credit hours are required to complete the program. All workshops are 4 credits.

Five workshops are required for program completion. The remaining two are electives and may be selected to fit your individual needs.

You are required to have a minimum of three years admissions experience to receive the certificate.

You must also be a member of SUNYCAP.

Financial Aid and Enrollment Management 

Upon completion of all program requirements, graduates wil be awarded a Certificate in Enrollment Management.
